Current traffic information for Croatian roads
Due to very strong wind all traffic is suspended:
- on the A1 motorway between the Sveti Rok and Posedarje junctions, detour for passenger traffic: DC50/DC27 state roads through Gračac, Obrovac and Karin, for other vehicles: DC1/DC59/DC50 state roads through Kistanje and Knin;
-on the part of the DC8 Adriatic road Senj-Sveta Marija Magdalena;
- on the DC54 Maslenica-Zaton Obrovački state road;
- at the Pag bridge (DC106).
Passenger traffic is allowed only:
-on the A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway between the Delnice and Čavle junctions, detour: DC3 state road;
-on the DC25 Brušane-Karlobag state road (winter equipment mandatory);
-on the DC27 Gračac-Zaton Obrovački-Karin state road;
-on the DC553 Omiš bypass road;
-at the Dubrovnik bridge.
On the A7 motorway between the Rijeka istok and Šmrika junctions, at the Krk bridge, on the DC99 state road between Križišće and the Križišće junction, on the LC58107 Kraljevica-Križišće local road as well as from Bakar to Senj on the DC8 there is a traffic ban on: doubledeckers, trailers, motorcycles, delivery vans and vehicles with covered cargo area.
Most roads are wet and slippery.
Traffic is dense in cities and on their bypass roads.
During the day difficulties can occur in roadwork areas.
Due to winter driving conditions there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles with trailers and all other vehicles have to use the winter equipment on the following roads
of the Lika mountain area and Zadarska county:

regional and local roads in the area of Senj, Korenica and Donji Lapac.
Drivers are invited to adjust the speed and the way of driving to the road conditions and to keep distance!
1 November-31 March the headlights have to be on during the day as well.
Traffic restrictions:
A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway:
-until 12 June traffic is suspended between the Bisko and Split junctions in direction Zagreb, detour: Bisko junction (A1 exit)-DC220-ŽC6260-ŽC6145-DC1-Dugopolje/Split; possible A1 entrance at the Dugopolje paytoll in direction Zagreb, impossible A1 entrance at the Bisko junction in direction Zagreb; traffic jams should be expected at the Bisko and Split paytolls;
-until 30 March 00.01am-4am traffic is suspended for 15 minutes at the Split junction in both directions;
A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway:
-14, 15 and 16 April, 21, 22 and 23 April 8pm-5am traffic is suspended between the Krapina and Trakošćan junctions in both directions, detour: DC1 state road;
A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway:
-until 29 March at the Lučko junction at the Karlovačka viaduct towards Bregana one lane is free only;
-until 27 March at 7pm on the A3 Zagreb bypass road between the Kosnica and Buzin junctions 31st-29th km traffic is proceeding in reduced lanes in both directions;
-until 29 March between the Lužani and Slavonski Brod zapad junctions 190th-193rd km, 200th-204th km one lane is free only in each direction (80 km/h);
-until 30 June at the Zagreb zapad junction from direction Lipovac (A3) towards Zagreb, from direction Bregana (A3) and Macelj (A2) towards Zagreb (Sava bridge-Jankomir) traffic is flowing in one lane only;
- until 31 March at the Slavonski Brod zapad junction traffic is closed in the exit lane from direction Lipovac as well as in the entrance lane in direction Zagreb, detour: Slavonski Brod istok junction;
A4 Zagreb-Goričan motorway:
-until 31 March at the Zagreb istok junction 97th-96th km in direction Goričan one lane is free only - traffic jams should be expected;
-until 31 March between the Ludbreg and Čakovec junctions 21st-24th km traffic is proceeding in one lane only in both directions (80 km/h);
A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway:
-until 25 May on the section Čavle-Kikovica 75th-72nd km one lane is free only in each direction;
A7 Rupa-Rijeka motorway:
A8/A9 highway in Istria
-due to roadwork between the Učka tunnel and the Matulji junction temporary traffic regulation has been put into place, detour options for personal vehicles: DC500 Vranja state road-Šušnjevica-Vozilići, ŽC5047 Vranja county road-Veprinac-Matulji;
-traffic jams are possible between the Učka junction (A7) and Učka tunnel in both directions;
-between the Kanfanar and Medaki junctions at the Limska Draga viaduct there is a traffic ban on abnormal load larger than 3,3 m in both directions;
DC1 Solin-Klis highway:
-due to roadwork between the Mravince and Klis Grlo tunnels traffic is proceeding in one lane only in each direction until 1 May;
DC44 Livade-Istarske Toplice state road:
-until 20 June traffic is suspended on the section Livade-Istarske Toplice;
DC62 Zagvozd-Vrgorac state road:
-traffic is suspended until 16 March;
DC75 Novigrad-Poreč state road:
-until 20 June traffic is closed on the section Tar-Bašarinka;
DC512 state road:
- due to rock sliding traffic is suspended at the Stupica tunnel towards Vrgorac.
At the border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro a new system of entering/exiting the country (so called Entry/Exit System - EES) is applied. It means that apart from having travel documents biometric passenger data will be collected (four fingerprints and face photo). The law does not refer to EU citizens.
Notifications about waiting time at border crossings are subject to frequent changes. Access to cameras at border crossings is provided on the Croatian Automobile Club website.
Until 31 December 2026 at the Erdut-Bogojevo border crossing there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles exceeding 7,5 tonnes.
The Gunja-Brčko border crossing is closed for all traffic, detour: Županja-Orašje border crossing.
At the Ilok-Bačka Palanka bridge traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 24 tonnes (driving speed limit of 30 km/h).
Starting 3 Junly 2023 international traffic is possible at the Slivno-Drinovačko Brdo border crossing.
Transit freight traffic is suspended at the Tovarnik/Šid border crossing, detour: Bajakovo border crossing.
Traffic is suspended for vehicles whose maximum weight exceeds 7,5 tonnes at the Pribanjci-Vinica border crossing on the DC204 state road.
The Dvor and Vitaljina border crossings are open for pedestrians and passenger traffic only.
The border crossings for the international maritime traffic are: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Book of Regulations on border crossings of the Republic of Croatia, pubblished at the Narodne novine, 2 January
2023).
The following ferries, catamarans and ships do not operate:
-Brestova-Porozina, Lopar-Valbiska, Stinica-Mišnjak, Prizna-Žigljen, Zadar/Gaženica-Ist-Olib-Silba-Premuda-Mali Lošinj, Sumartin-Makarska, Sućuraj-Drvenik and Dubrovnik-Koločep-Lopud-Suđurađ ferries;
-Rijeka-Cres-Mali Lošinj, Rijeka-Rab-Novalja, Zadar-Sali-Zaglav-Iž (Bršanj), Zadar-Iž Mali-Iž Veli-M. Rava-Rava, Zadar-Molat-Brgulje-Zapuntel-Ist, Olib-Silba-Premuda-Zadar, Žirje-Kaprije-Šibenik, Split-Bol-Jelsa, Split-Rogač, Split-Stari Grad, Milna-Split, Ubli-Vela Luka-Hvar-Split, Ubli-Korčula-Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik-Korčula-Hvar-Milna-Split catamarans;
-Mali Lošinj-Vele Srakane-Unije-Susak, Zadar-Mali Iž-Veli Iž-Mala Rava-Rava, Zadar-Preko and Zadar-Sali-Zaglav-Zadar ships.
505 Šibenik-Zlarin-Šepurine-Vodice ship does not embark at Vodice port, 532 Šibenik-Kaprije-Žirje ferry at Žirje port.

Border crossings for international maritime passenger and goods traffic are: Rijeka, Ploče, Zadar, Šibenik, Split, Dubrovnik and Raša-Bršica, for passenger traffic only: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Regulation on border crossings of Republic of Croatia, pubblished at Narodne novine, 2 January 2023).

15 June-15 September there are traffic restrictions on freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes on Saturdays 4am-2pm, on Sundays noon-11pm and on holidays 3pm-11pm on the following roads:
- DC8-DC40 Bakar junction-Zadar-Split-Klek border crossing-Zaton Doli border crossing-Dubrovnik-Karasovići border crossing (except on the part DC27-Šibenik bridge-Šibenik-DC58, Bilice roundabout at Solin-Stobreč);
- DC9-Metković-Opuzen-DC8;
- DC21 Kaštel border crossing-Buje-Kanfanar junction (except on the part DC21 Kanfanar-Pula-DC66);
- DC23 Žuta Lokva-Senj;
- DC39-A1-Šestanovac roundabout-DC8-Dupci;
- DC66 Pula junction (A9)-Raša-Opatija-DC8;

Traffic restrictions for transit freight vehicles through Croatia:
-For freight vehicle exceeding 7,5 tonnes there is a traffic ban on the DC414 state road from DC8-DC414 intersection to Prapratno junction as well as from Prapratno junction to Komarna junction (Pelješac bridge and its access roads).
-According to the Book of regulations for public road transit traffic, freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes without a trailer/with a trailer longer than 14 m are allowed to use the following roads:
