Current traffic information for Croatian roads
Due to fog visibility is reduced in the interior. Roads are partly wet and due to low temperatures very slippery.
During the day difficulties can occur in roadwork areas.
Drivers are invited to adjust the speed and the way of driving to the road conditions, to keep distance and not to start the journey without the winter equipment.
A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway:
-until 20 February the Janjče rest area is closed in both directions;
-10-19 December 9am-4pm between the Bosiljevo 2 junction and Mala Kapela tunnel traffic is occasionally suspended for 15 minutes;
A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway:-until 19 December the Kraljeva Velika jug rest area is closed in direction Lipovac, 115th-117th km towards Lipovac the hard shoulder is closed (80 km/h);
-until 18 December at the Sveta Nedelja junction at 8th km in direction Lipovac one lane is free only (80 km/h);
-15-18 December at noon at the Lužani junction traffic is suspended at the exit from direction Zagreb as well as at the entrance in direction Lipovac, detour from direction Zagreb towards Lužani: Nova Gradiška junction, from direction Lužani towards Zagreb: Sl. Brod zapad junction;
A4 Goričan-Zagreb motorway:
A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway:-one lane is free only in each direction between the Čavle and Orehovica junctions until 19 December;
-until 18 December 1am-4.30am traffic is occasionally closed for 15 minutes between the Oštrovica and Kikovica junctions due to abnormal load;
A7 Rupa-Rijeka motorway:
A8/A9 highway in Istria
-due to roadwork between the Učka tunnel and the Matulji junction temporary traffic regulation has been put into place and traffic might occasionally be suspended, detour options for personal vehicles: DC500 Vranja state road-Šušnjevica-Vozilići, ŽC5047 Vranja county road-Veprinac-Matulji;
-traffic jams are possible between the Učka junction (A7) and Učka tunnel in both directions;
DC1 state road:
-one lane is free only at Tušilović until 12 January, at Rastoke until 3 February;
DC3 state road:
-traffic is proceeding in one lane only between Vrbovsko and Delnice;
DC44 Bijele Zemlje-Buzet state road:
-until 20 June traffic is suspended on the section Livade-Istarske toplice;
DC512 state road:
- due to rock sliding traffic is suspended at the Stupica tunnel towards Vrgorac.
At the border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro a new system of entering/exiting the country (so called Entry/Exit System - EES) is applied. It means that apart from having travel documents biometric passenger data will be collected (four fingerprints and face photo). This law does not refer to EU citizens.
Notifications about waiting time at border crossings are subject to frequent changes. Access to cameras at border crossings is provided on the Croatian Automobile Club website.
Until 31 December 2026 at the Erdut-Bogojevo border crossing there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles exceeding 7,5 tonnes.
The Gunja-Brčko border crossing is closed for all traffic, detour: Županja-Orašje border crossing.
At the Ilok-Bačka Palanka bridge traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 24 tonnes (driving speed limit of 30 km/h).
Starting 3 Junly 2023 international traffic is possible at the Slivno-Drinovačko Brdo border crossing.
Transit freight traffic is suspended at the Tovarnik/Šid border crossing, detour: Bajakovo border crossing.
Traffic is suspended for vehicles whose maximum weight exceeds 7,5 tonnes at the Pribanjci-Vinica border crossing on the DC204 state road.
The Dvor and Vitaljina border crossings are open for pedestrians and passenger traffic only.
The border crossings for the international maritime traffic are: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Book of Regulations on border crossings of the Republic of Croatia, pubblished at the Narodne novine, 2 January
2023).
In ferry traffic there are no difficulties.
13 December Zadar/Gaženica-Preko ferry departs at 11.59pm (instead at 11pm).
Trogir (Soline)-Drvenik Mali ferry departs Trogir port at 11am (instead at 10am), Drvenik Mali port at 2.35pm (instead at 12.30pm), Trogir port at 4.15pm (instead at 3.30pm).
14 December 832 Prapratno-Sobra ferry departs Sobra port at 4pm (instead at 3pm).
Split-Vela Luka-Ubli ferry departs Ubli port on Sundays and on holidays at noon (instead at 1pm), Split port at 5pm (instead at 6pm).
Šibenik-Zlarin-Prvić Luka-Prvić Šepurine-Vodice ship does not embark at Prvić Luka port.

Border crossings for international maritime passenger and goods traffic are: Rijeka, Ploče, Zadar, Šibenik, Split, Dubrovnik and Raša-Bršica, for passenger traffic only: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Regulation on border crossings of Republic of Croatia, pubblished at Narodne novine, 2 January 2023).

15 June-15 September there are traffic restrictions on freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes on Saturdays 4am-2pm, on Sundays noon-11pm and on holidays 3pm-11pm on the following roads:
- DC8-DC40 Bakar junction-Zadar-Split-Klek border crossing-Zaton Doli border crossing-Dubrovnik-Karasovići border crossing (except on the part DC27-Šibenik bridge-Šibenik-DC58, Bilice roundabout at Solin-Stobreč);
- DC9-Metković-Opuzen-DC8;
- DC21 Kaštel border crossing-Buje-Kanfanar junction (except on the part DC21 Kanfanar-Pula-DC66);
- DC23 Žuta Lokva-Senj;
- DC39-A1-Šestanovac roundabout-DC8-Dupci;
- DC66 Pula junction (A9)-Raša-Opatija-DC8;
- DC200 Buje (DC21)-Plovanija border crossing;

Traffic restrictions for transit freight vehicles through Croatia:
-For freight vehicle exceeding 7,5 tonnes there is a traffic ban on the DC414 state road from DC8-DC414 intersection to Prapratno junction as well as from Prapratno junction to Komarna junction (Pelješac bridge and its access roads).
-According to the Book of regulations for public road transit traffic, freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes without a trailer/with a trailer longer than 14 m are allowed to use the following roads:
