Current traffic information for Croatian roads
Due to fog visibility is reduced in the interior. Roads are wet and slippery throughout the country. Attention to possible flood and rock sliding, especially in mountain areas and on the DC8 Adriatic road!
Traffic is dense in cities and on their bypass roads:
-on the A3 Zagreb bypass road between the Zagreb zapad and Lučko junctions towards Lipovac,
-on the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway between the Rugvica and Otok Svibovski junctions towards Bregana - the queue is 1 km long,
-on the A4 motorway between the Popovec and Zagreb istok junctions towards Zagreb - the queue is 4 km long.
During the day difficulties can occur in roadwork areas.
Traffic is suspended:- on the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway at the Sveta Nedelja junction at the exit in direction Lipovac;
- on the A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway at the entrance of the Vrbovsko junction in direction Rijeka.
Traffic is occasionally flowing with delays:
-on the A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway between the Žuta Lokva and Otočac junctions at 131st km in both directions;
-on the A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway between the Lužani and Slavonski Brod zapad junctions in each direction, between the Zagreb istok paytoll and Rugvica junction in direction Zagreb;
-on the A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway between the Vrbovsko and Orehovica junctions;
-on the A8/A9 highway in Istria between the Učka junction and Učka tunnel in both directions;
-on the DC8 Adriatic road at Murvica near Zadar, between Stobreč and Podstrana, at Cavtat;
-on the DC1 state road at Udbina, Rastoke and Tušilović;
-on the DC3 state road between Delnice and Vrbovsko.
Drivers are invited to adjust the speed and the way of driving to the road conditions and to keep distance.
A1 Zagreb-Ploče-Karamatići motorway:
- until 15 November at the Babića most on the section Žuta Lokva-Otočac one lane is free only in each direction;
- until 17 November the Janjče rest area is closed in both directions;
-20-24 October at the Plasina and Grič tunnels one lane is free only in both directions;
A2 Zagreb-Macelj motorway:
-until 8 November at the Đurmanec tunnel 5th-8th km one lane is free only in each direction;
A3 Bregana-Lipovac motorway:-until 30 October between the Nova Gradiška and Slavonski Brod zapad junctions one lane is free only in both directions;
-at the Stari Grabovac sjever and Stari Grabovac jug rest areas the parking areas are still closed until 30 October;
-until 27 November between the Lužani and Slavonski Brod zapad junctions one lane is free only in both directions;
-until 29 October at the Lučko junction in direction Lipovac traffic is proceeding in one lane only;
-until 30 October at the Sveta Nedelja junction traffic is suspended at the exit from direction Bregana towards Sveta Nedelja, detour: Bobovica junction-DC231-Sveta Nedelja;
A4 Goričan-Zagreb motorway:
-until 28 November at the Drava 2 and Drava 3 bridges between the Čakovec and Ludbreg junctions in direction Goričan one lane is free only;
A6 Rijeka-Zagreb motorway:-until 30 October at the Stara Sušica tunnel, at the Javorova Kosa and Pod Vugleš tunnels between the Vrbovsko and Ravna Gora junctions one lane is free only in each direction;
-until 24 October traffic is suspended at the entrance of the Vrbovsko junction in direction Zagreb, detour: DC42/DC3 state roads;
-28-29 (or 29-30) October 1am-4.30am traffic is occasionally closed for 15 minutes at the Rijeka and Oštrovica paytolls, between the Rijeka paytoll and Kikovica junction (DC3 entrance/exit);
-until 19 December between the Čavle and Orehovica junctions 78th-80th km one lane is free only in each direction (possible traffic jams);
A7 Rijeka-Rupa-Žuta Lokva motorway:
-until 30 October between the Učka and Rijeka zapad junctions at 17th km in direction Križišće one lane is free only (60 km/h);
A8/A9 highway in Istria
-due to roadwork between the Učka tunnel and the Matulji junction temporary traffic regulation has been put into place and traffic might occasionally be suspended, detour options for personal vehicles: DC500 Vranja state road-Šušnjevica-Vozilići, ŽC5047 Vranja county road-Veprinac-Matulji;
DC1 state road:
-roadwork is in progress at Brnaze, from direction Sinj towards Split there is a traffic ban on vehicles longer than 7 m;
-due to roadwork traffic is closed at Udbina 8am-5pm, there is a local detour;
-until 12 January at the Tušilović bridge one lane is free only;
DC8 Adriatic road:
-between Novi Vinodolski and Povile traffic is proceeding in one lane only;
DC404 state road in Rijeka:
-until 24 October 10.30pm-5am traffic is suspended between the Vežica junction and the DC8/DC404 (Delta parking place/Ivana pl. Zajca street) state road intersection due to roadwork at the Bobova and Pećine tunnels;
DC512 Makarska-Ravča state road:
- due to rock sliding traffic is suspended at the Stupica tunnel towards Vrgorac.
At all border crossings with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro a new system of entering/exiting the country (so called Entry/Exit System - EES) will be applied. It means that apart from having travel documents biometric passenger data will be collected (four fingerprints and face photo). This law does not refer to EU citizens.
Notifications about waiting time at border crossings are subject to frequent changes. Access to cameras at border crossings is provided on the Croatian Automobile Club website.
Until 31 December 2026 at the Erdut-Bogojevo border crossing there is a traffic ban on freight vehicles exceeding 7,5 tonnes.
The Gunja-Brčko border crossing is closed for all traffic, detour: Županja-Orašje border crossing.
At the Ilok-Bačka Palanka bridge traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 24 tonnes (driving speed limit of 30 km/h).
Starting 3 Junly 2023 international traffic is possible at the Slivno-Drinovačko Brdo border crossing.
Transit freight traffic is suspended at the Tovarnik/Šid border crossing, detour: Bajakovo border crossing.
Traffic is suspended for vehicles whose maximum weight exceeds 7,5 tonnes at the Pribanjci-Vinica border crossing on the DC204 state road.
The Dvor and Vitaljina border crossings are open for pedestrians and passenger traffic only.
The border crossings for the international maritime traffic are: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Book of Regulations on border crossings of the Republic of Croatia, pubblished at the Narodne novine, 2 January
2023).
Due to wind the following ferries and catamarans do not operate:
-Komiža-Biševo, Split-Vis, Ploče-Trpanj ferries;
-Korčula-Prigradica-Hvar-Split, Jelsa-Bol-Split, Split-Stari Grad, Split, Mali Lošinj–Unije-Cres–Rijeka, Pula-Zadar-Pula, Novalja-Rab-Rijeka, Vis-Split, Brbinj-Božava-Zverinac Brbinj-Božava-Zverinac-Sestrunj-Rivanj-Zadar, Ist-Zapuntel-Brgulje-Molat-Zadar, Ubli-Korčula-Dubrovnik catamarans.
On other lines there are no difficulties.
25 October 602 Split-Vis ferry departs Split port at 7.30pm (instead at 6.30pm).
Šibenik-Zlarin-Prvić Luka-Prvić Šepurine-Vodice ship does not embark at Prvić Luka port.

Border crossings for international maritime passenger and goods traffic are: Rijeka, Ploče, Zadar, Šibenik, Split, Dubrovnik and Raša-Bršica, for passenger traffic only: Umag, Pula, Mali Lošinj, Vis, Ubli and Cavtat (Regulation on border crossings of Republic of Croatia, pubblished at Narodne novine, 2 January 2023).

15 June-15 September there are traffic restrictions on freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes on Saturdays 4am-2pm, on Sundays noon-11pm and on holidays 3pm-11pm on the following roads:
- DC8-DC40 Bakar junction-Zadar-Split-Klek border crossing-Zaton Doli border crossing-Dubrovnik-Karasovići border crossing (except on the part DC27-Šibenik bridge-Šibenik-DC58, Bilice roundabout at Solin-Stobreč);
- DC9-Metković-Opuzen-DC8;
- DC21 Kaštel border crossing-Buje-Kanfanar junction (except on the part DC21 Kanfanar-Pula-DC66);
- DC23 Žuta Lokva-Senj;
- DC39-A1-Šestanovac roundabout-DC8-Dupci;
- DC66 Pula junction (A9)-Raša-Opatija-DC8;
- DC200 Buje (DC21)-Plovanija border crossing;
- DC300 Buje (DC21)-Umag;
- Ž5002 Novigrad-Tar-Poreč-Vrsar (DC21);

Traffic restrictions for transit freight vehicles through Croatia:
-For freight vehicle exceeding 7,5 tonnes there is a traffic ban on the DC414 state road from DC8-DC414 intersection to Prapratno junction as well as from Prapratno junction to Komarna junction (Pelješac bridge and its access roads).
-According to the Book of regulations for public road transit traffic, freight vehicles heavier than 7,5 tonnes without a trailer/with a trailer longer than 14 m are allowed to use the following roads:
